Woman arrested for disorderly behaviour along Geylang Road

A 25-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday morning along Geylang Road for disorderly behaviour.

She had apparently turned up drunk and rowdy at a convenience store at about 11am, said the police in a statement. When asked to leave by the shop owner, the work permit holder refused and began acting aggressively. The shop owner then called the police.

She did not stop shouting after officers from Bedok Police Division arrived at the scene, and was eventually arrested.

Disorderly behaviour carries a fine of up to $1,000 or a jail term of up to a month. Anyone subsequently convicted for the same offence can be fined up to $2,000 or jailed for up to six months.
