Winning entries from anti-bicycle theft mural painting competition on display in Chai Chee

SINGAPORE - A two-month long 'Anti-Bicycle Theft' mural painting competition culminated in a display of the top six entries on Saturday, which adorned the walls of a Chai Chee Road Housing Board block.

The event, a collaboration between Bedok South Neighbourhood Police Centre, Chai Chee Grassroots, the National Crime Prevention Council and the Kembangan-Chai Chee Community Art and Culture Committee, aimed to inspire youths and keep them away from crime during the December school holidays.

The competition, open to those between 12 and 19 years old residing in the Chai Chee area, required participants to come up with murals carrying messages on the prevention of bike theft.

The top six were showcased on Saturday as part of the Crime Prevention Roadshow, of which Minister for Manpower and Adviser to Marine Parade GRC, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, was a guest of honour.

The winning mural was painted by teenagers Lim Chear Min, Lim Ming Hui, Cheryl Fong, and Cherol Fong.
