Taoist event in memory of Mr Lee

The Taoist Federation and Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple will hold an event this evening to commemorate founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Less privileged seniors and residents from Geylang Serai will be invited to the event and receive food packs as well as red packets. Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Chan Chun Sing is guest of honour for the event, which is co-organised by the Inter-Religious Organisation.


US home sales data out today

The US will release its existing home sales data today with hopes that the housing market will continue to be on the mend.

The world's largest economy will also release a survey on economic activity.

Both reports should give a firmer indication of when the interest rate hikes will take place, after the US central bank signalled that it is likely to slow the pace of increases this year.


New iPhone and iPad models expected

New iPhone and iPad models likely to be unveiled today are aimed at helping Apple keep momentum in the fast-evolving mobile device market.

The media gathering at the company's intimate Town Hall auditorium in Silicon Valley will also give Apple a chance to restate its case for fighting a US government demand that it break into a terrorist's iPhone.
