Pioneer Generation Ambassadors' day

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is the guest of honour at an appreciation night for Pioneer Generation Ambassadors at Gardens by the Bay today. These are the volunteers who go door to door to explain Pioneer Generation Package benefits to recipients.

PM Lee is also launching a commemorative book at the event, which contains the stories and experiences of the Pioneer Generation.


Aquino's last State of Union address

Mr Benigno Aquino, the Philippines' 15th President, will deliver his last State of the Nation address today. With a year left in office, he is racing to secure a legacy that rests on a stronger economy and a credible campaign against corruption. He is expected to stress the need for a new president who will continue his agenda, in a tacit attempt to rally voters behind his choice of successor.


Shanmugam in India for S'pore event

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam is in Chennai, India, today to take part in the Singapore Symposium 2015, organised by the Institute of South Asian Studies in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry. The highlight of the event is an interactive session with Mr Shanmugam. The symposium also features a panel discussion with Singapore business leaders.
