Vivian Balakrishnan to visit Chiang Mai for 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit

Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan, will attend the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS) in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

With the theme of "Water Security and Water-related Disaster Challenges: Leadership and Commitment", Dr Balakrishnan will deliver a statement on Singapore's experience in water management.

This will be at the Leaders' Forum on May 20, where Heads of States and Governments, Ministers and top executives from international and regional organisations, as well as the private sector, will be in attendance.

The APWS is organised by the Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) and was first held in Japan in 2007.

This year, it will be held from May 19 to 20 and hosted by the Royal Thai Government in collaboration with the APWF as well as supporting regional and international organisations.
