5-vehicle pile-up at Bishan Road; 2 people taken to hospital

SINGAPORE - Two cars, two lorries and a pick-up truck were involved in a vehicle pile-up at Bishan Road on Friday (Sept 30) morning.

A spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident along Bishan Road, near the entrance of SMRT depot, at 7.50am and an ambulance was despatched to the location.

According to the police, a man and a woman in their 20s from a Malaysian car involved in the accident were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The man complained of chest pains and abrasions while the woman complained of pain on her right shoulder and swelling of her left ankle, SCDF said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
