US Pacific Air Force commander visits Singapore

The Commander of the United States Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) General (Gen) Herbert Carlisle called on Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen on Tuesday as part of his three-day introductory visit to Singapore.

Gen Carlisle also met with Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng, and Chief of Air Force, Major-General Hoo Cher Mou, at the Defence Ministry. Gen Carlisle also visited Sembawang Airbase and Paya Lebar Airbase.

In a statement, Mindef said that both sides reaffirmed their close professional cooperation and reiterated their commitment to strengthen defence ties.

It added that the visit highlights the excellent and long-standing defence ties between Singapore and the United States, in which both air forces have built through bilateral training exercises and professional exchanges.
