Two more men were jailed on Wednesday for having paid sex with a 17-year-old Chinese national who was forced into prostitution by her pimp. This brings the number of men sentenced so far to 17.

To date, 24 men have been charged with commercial sex with the underage native from Shandong. Seventeen have been convicted, of which 15 have been jailed between 10 and 12 weeks each. Two have yet to be sentenced.

The latest two men to plead guilty on Wednesday are Ho Chee Keong, 36, a former treasury adviser with a bank, and ex-IT manager Leonard Shoh Kwan Heng, 42. Ho was sentenced to 11 weeks for paying $80 for the minor's sexual services at Lai Ming Hotel at Geylang Road on May 23. Shoh was given 12 weeks for paying $60 to the girl for her services at the same hotel on May 25. Unlike Ho, Shoh did not ask the minor for her age nor look any of her documents to check her age.

Both bachelors could have been jailed for up to seven years and/or fined for engaging in commercial sex with a person under 18 years of age.
