Two million Singaporeans to receive Budget notifications this July

Two million Singaporeans will receive letters from the Government in the first week of July, informing them of the benefits they will receive as part of Budget 2013.

These include GST Vouchers (GSTV) comprising of GSTV - Cash, GSTV - Medisave and GSTV- U-Save, a one-off extra payment of GSTV, and a $200 top-up to the CPF Medisave Accounts of all Singaporeans aged 45 and above.

The letters will also contain information on other benefits from Budget 2013, such as the enhanced Workfare and Personal Income Tax Rebates.

The benefits will provide direct assistance to Singaporeans and their households, to help them cope with increases in the cost of living, said the Ministry of Finance.

The GSTV (Cash, Medisave and U-Save) and the one-off GSTV extra payment will cost the Government about $1.2 billion.

Eligible Singaporeans will automatically receive their GSTV payouts on 1 August 2013.

However, a small number of eligible Singaporeans who have not signed up for a previous Government payout will need to do so by 31 December 2013 if they are to receive the latest benefits.
