Two Indian nationals have been arrested for trying to slip by immigration officers.
The men, aged 31 and 51, were found hiding in the boot of a car at Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday.
Both men, as well as the 36-year-old Malaysian driver and a 55-year-old Malaysian, passenger have been arrested, and are currently under investigation by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority officers for the offences.
Under the Immigration Act, the penalties for overstaying, or illegally entering Singapore are a jail term of up to six months with at least three strokes of the cane.
Anyone convicted of illegally departing Singapore can be fined up to $2,000 or jailed for a maximum of six months, or both.
