They allegedly committed the offence with two others near Tampines West Community Centre at 6.24am.
Police investigation showed that the isolated incident resulted from a misunderstanding between two groups of men.
Both were remanded at Bedok police division for further investigation.
They will be back in court on April 1.
If convicted of causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon, they could be jailed for up to 15 years and liable to a fine or caning each.
