Two men sustained minor injuries in an accident involving a van and a mini-bus along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Monday afternoon.

The accident happened on the PIE towards Jurong before Clementi Avenue 6 and a total of four vehicles are believed to have been involved.

A spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said officers received a call for help at 3.51pm. A 51-year old male driver, who was trapped in the seat of his van, was extricated and taken to the National University Hospital. He was conscious but had pain in his neck and abrasions on his legs.

A 46-year-old male passenger from another vehicle who was involved in the accident suffered chest pains and was also taken to the hospital. Investigations are ongoing.
