Firefighters battling a blaze at a warehouse at 28, Tuas Avenue 10 yesterday afternoon. Two workers were taken to hospital for burns. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said in a Facebook post that it was alerted to the fire at about 4.10pm, and when firefighters arrived, the warehouse was "well alight". The fire involved scrap metals and plastic materials. Firefighters extinguished the blaze around 5.30pm with eight water jets, one unmanned firefighting machine and one aerial firefighting platform. A total of 80 firefighters and 21 emergency vehicles were involved in the operation. When The Sunday Times visited the site yesterday evening, there was an acrid smell in the air and damping down operations were in progress.
