Legal talks to be held on July 22 and 24 will now be held at the Supreme Court next to the Parliament house.
The talks on the other two days, July 23 and July 25 will still take place at the Subordinate Courts on Havelock Road, the original venue.
The Singapore Academy of Law said in a media statement on Monday(july08) that there has been overwhelming response from the public to the free legal talks and clinics, which will cover a range of topics including criminal proceedings such as illegal
money lending, employment matters, personal insolvency, family law,
estate management and consumer protection.
"To accommodate the many interested members of public, we have
decided to move the venue for the legal talks to the auditorium at the
Supreme Court which has a bigger capacity," said Ms Jennifer Marie,
Deputy Chief District Judge at the Subordinate Courts and Chairperson of the
Law Week Organising Committee.
She added that another talk is in the works, and will be annouced when the details are confirmed. Registration for the talks this month has closed.
