Two arrested for attempting to pawn fake gold bars

SINGAPORE - Two men have been arrested for trying to pawn gold bars believed to be fake.

The two men, aged 17 and 25, are suspected of involvement in several cases of attempted cheating, police said on Thursday (April 6).

Police received a report on March 30 that two men had tried to pawn two gold bars believed to be fake. Both men were arrested on Wednesday (April 5).

The 17-year-old man was arrested along Race Course Road while the 25-year- old man was arrested along Holland Close.

Investigations against both suspects are ongoing.

Anyone found guilty of cheating may be jailed up to 10 years, and can be fined.
