Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrives in Singapore today for his first official visit.

The two-day visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, highlights the two countries' rapidly developing relationship, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Mr Erdogan, who is accompanied by senior Turkish officials and an 80-strong business delegation, will call on President Tony Tan and PM Lee at the Istana on Thursday.

A Turkey-Singapore business forum is also being held on Thursday in conjunction with the visit. Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Lim Hng Kiang, and Turkish Minister of Economy, Mr Nihat Zeybekci, will speak at the forum.
