Tsao Foundation launches new long-term eldercare programme

A centre under the Tsao Foundation has launched a new programme to allow the elderly to age in place.

The programme, launched on Friday by the Hua Mei Centre for Successful Ageing, targets senior residents who are frail or may be suffering from chronic medical conditions to continue living within the community, instead of going to a nursing home.

Participants can take part in day activities at the centre, such as flower arrangement and pottery, and they also have access to 24-hour medical healthcare and counselling.

Volunteer staff will bring participants to and from their homes, and can deliver medication or perform home care tasks if needed.
