Two new bus services for commuters in Jurong East and Geylang

SINGAPORE - Two new bus services will be launched in December, to connect commuters in Jurong East to Upper Bukit Timah, and commuters from Lorong 1 Geylang to St Wilfred Rd.

Bus number 41, which will start on Dec 14, is a new daily loop service between Jurong East Bus Interchange and Jalan Anak Bukit.

It will offer commuters access to places such as Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital, Bukit Timah Market, Toh Guan Industrial Estate and shopping malls such as JCube, Jem, and Bukit Timah Plaza.

Bus service 140, which will also start on Dec 14, will ply Lorong 1 Geylang, Upper Boon Keng Road, Geylang Bahru, Bendemeer Road, Boon Keng Road, Serangoon Road, St George's Road and St Wilfred Road.

The two services are the 34th and 35th to be introduced under the Government's billion dollar Bus Service Enhancement Programme.

Announcing the new routes on Tuesday, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) also said that bus service 35, which currently operates from Bedok Bus Interchange and loops at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, will be extended to the Airport Logistics Park of Singapore.
