SINGAPORE - Train service on the East-West Line was affected by a track fault on Tuesday (Oct 18) evening, with commuters experiencing delays and slower trains due to congestion.

SMRT first tweeted about the track fault at 7.09pm, saying that commuters should allow for 10 minutes of additional travel time from Tanah Merah to Bugis stations towards Joo Koon and that the train service was still available.

It tweeted again 19 minutes later to advise of an additional 20-minute delay along the stretch.

At 8.05pm, SMRT tweeted to announce that additional travel time had been reduced to 10 minutes.

At 9.03pm, SMRT tweeted that service has resumed.
