SMRT trains, some buses to run later on two Saturdays during festive season

SINGAPORE - Trains and some bus services will run later on two Saturdays to meet increased demand during the festive season, according to an SMRT travel advisory released on Tuesday.

On Jan 31 and Feb 14, the last trains on the North-South and East-West Lines in both directions will depart City Hall MRT station at 12.30am.

For the Circle Line, the last train towards HarbourFront MRT station will depart Dhoby Ghaut MRT station at 11.55pm, while the last train towards Dhoby Ghaut will depart HarbourFront at 11.30pm.

Passengers on the last northbound train will be able to connect to the last Bukit Panjang LRT train at 1.31am.

Selected bus services will also leave five interchanges at later hours.

Bus services 173A, 189A, 941, 945, and 947 will leave Bukit Batok at 1.45am; 300, 302, and 307 from Choa Chu Kang at 1.35am; 859A from Sembawang at 1.40am; 901, 911, 912, and 913 from Woodlands at 1.35am; and 804 and 812 from Yishun at 1.45am.

SMRT also announced that five bus services will be diverted on Jan 31 due to road closures for the official Chinese New Year light-up ceremony at Chinatown.

Bus services 61, 190, 851, 961, and 970 will be diverted between 2pm and 11pm, skipping nine stops along Outram Road, Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road and Upper Cross Street.
