Singapore signs civil aviation cooperation MOU with Brunei

Singapore's Transport Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on civil aviation cooperation with Brunei's Communications Ministry on Thursday, on the sidelines of the 20th ASEAN Transport Ministers' Meeting in Mandalay.

The MOU will see Singapore and Brunei cooperate in various areas, including civil aviation safety, aircraft accident and incident investigation, and air traffic management, said the Transport Ministry in a statement.

The MOU shows a desire for more collaboration between the transport ministries and civil aviation authorities in Brunei and Singapore, it added.

Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew said: "Through greater cooperation, our two countries will be able to jointly address common challenges and harness the opportunities in the aviation arena and build on our many common aviation interests."

Brunei's Minister of Communications Pehin Dato Abdullah Bakar added that he hopes Brunei's aviation industry can benefit from the collaboration with Singapore.
