SIA to open the doors of its Training Centre to the public for the first time

SINGAPORE - Members of the public would soon be able to view the behind-the-scenes training of Singapore Airlines (SIA) pilots and cabin crew.

SIA will be opening its training centre to the public for the first time at an open house on July 25, from 9am to 6pm.

Visitors can join activities including walking tours of the Flight Simulator, Safety Training as well as Cabin Crew training facilities. Visitors can also take part in an all-day carnival and visit the SIA Heritage Gallery, showcasing the airline's development over the years.

Children aged between four and 10 can also participate in an exclusive hour-long Junior Cabin Crew Experience. They will have an opportunity to don the iconic SIA cabin crew uniform as well as role-play with a parent in a replica of the SIA A38 Business Class cabin.

The children can also participate in an on-the-spot drawing and colouring competition on the day of the open house.

Meanwhile, SIA is also organising an art competition with the theme, "Celebrating SG50 with SIA: Growing with the Nation".

Secondary and tertiary students up to age 30, have till June 30 to submit digital copies of artwork with a brief description,

The open house and art competition are among a series of events organised by SIA to celebrate the nation's 50th birthday.

Entry to the open house is free for the public, with a nominal fee for certain activities.

All proceeds from the two events would be donated to the Community Chest of Singapore.

Free shuttle bus services from Tanah Merah MRT Station and Singapore Expo will be provided to and from the SIA Training Centre.

Visitors are advised to use the shuttle service as parking will be unavailable on the premises. The timetable of the shuttle service can be found on the official website.
