Both transport operators also announced in press releases on Monday (Feb 1) that several bus services will be diverted in the Chinatown area due to road closures for the Chinese New Year Countdown Celebration.

SBS Transit said train services on the  North-East and Downtown Lines, including the Sengkang and Punggol LRT systems, will run for an additional two hours.

On the North-East Line, for example, the last train to leave Punggol station for HarbourFront station will depart at 1.33am, while commuters can catch the last train at HarbourFront station towards Punggol at 1.55am.

The same will apply to the SMRT-run North-South, East-West and Circle Lines, as well as as the Bukit Panjang LRT system, although SMRT will also extend train operating hours on Saturday (Feb 6).
