SINGAPORE - A new flyover will open in the Seletar area later this month, which will offer motorists better connectivity to expressways and the aerospace hub.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Monday that works for the Seletar Aerospace Flyover and an adjoining set of new roads have been completed and will open on May 16 at 5am.

The dual three-lane flyover will link motorists to three expressways: Central Expressway (CTE), Seletar Expressway (SLE) and Tampines Expressway (TPE).

Motorists coming from these expressways can also use the flyover to travel to the new Seletar Aerospace Way and head to the Seletar Aerospace Park.

Along with the flyover, a new Sengkang West Road will also open which will bring motorists from Yio Chu Kang to the TPE directly. This will allow them to bypass the one-lane Jalan Kayu and reducing traffic congestion there.

Construction on the flyover and viaducts started in the second quarter of 2011.
