New bus service plying between Outram and Commonwealth launched

SINGAPORE - A new bus service plying between Outram and Commonwealth was launched on Sunday.

Service 122 will provide residents of Margaret Drive, Dawson Road and Kay Siang Road with better connectivity to MRT stations, schools and other key amenities.

Operated by SBS Transit, the new route is launched as part of the Government's billion-dollar Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP). It is the second new bus service for the Tanjong Pagar area.

Besides calling at Outram Park, Tiong Bahru and Commonwealth MRT stations, service 122 will also provide access to Tiong Bahru Plaza, Singapore General Hospital, as well as schools such as Queensway Secondary and Gan Eng Seng.

To commemorate the new route, some 35 residents living along Strathmore Avenue were treated to a complimentary ride on service 122. They were joined by Senior Minister of State for Law and Education and Tanjong Pagar GRC MP Indranee Rajah.
