SINGAPORE - To ensure a smooth transition with minimal inconvenience to commuters, the Bulim package under the bus contracting model will be implemented in three tranches from the end of May.

The Bulim bus package, to be run by Tower Transit Singapore, consists of 26 bus services which will operate from three bus interchanges - Bukit Batok, Clementi and Jurong East - and terminate at four bus interchanges - Bedok, Marina Centre, Shenton Way and Toa Payoh.

They will be supported by the Bulim Bus Depot located off Jurong West Ave 2, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on Friday (April 29).

LTA chief executive Chew Men Leong said: "The Bulim bus package marks the start of the bus contracting model. We would like to assure commuters that LTA, Tower Transit Singapore, SBS Transit and SMRT are working together tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible."

Mr Andrew Bujtor, managing director of Tower Transit Singapore, said: "We keep a countdown timer running on the screens in our depot. It is in the canteen, so when we catch a breath, have our meals or even have a quick stress-relieving game of table tennis, it is always on our minds.

"The result is, we have been extremely focused and we are now in a very good position in terms of manpower and operational readiness. I am proud of the tremendous job our team has done so far in getting us to the starting line.

"When we finally hit the road, our promise is that with the release of each tranche, each bus and each trip, we will continue to get better and more intuitive in serving our commuters."

Commuters can get more information on the Bulim bus package on LTA's social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
