SINGAPORE - EZ-Link will discontinue its season travel pass scheme from next year.

The scheme, which started in 2009, offers commuters unlimited bus rides and up to four train trips a day, at $170 a month.

"With the evolving landscape, EZ-Link has decided to cease its season pass service and work towards delivering value, convenience and ease of travel to commuters in other ways," the company said on Wednesday.

Commuters currently have a cheaper alternative to the EZ-Link season pass - a $120 adult monthly pass that was introduced on April 6, under the recommendation of the Fare Review Mechanism Committee.

EZ-Link said that existing season pass holders can continue to purchase monthly passes until Dec 1 and weekly passes until Dec 25.

From next year, they can continue to use the season pass as a normal EZ-Link card by adding stored value into the EZ-Link purse.

The public can call the EZ-Link hotline on 6496-8300, from 8am to 6pm daily except public holidays, or e-mail customerservice@ezlink.com.sg to find out more.
