Confirm plus chop: Jetstar to use Singlish for in-flight announcements on National Day

SINGAPORE - Jetstar will introduce Singlish announcements on board its National Day flights, the budget carrier announced on Monday (Aug 1).

It said passengers flying into Singapore on selected flights on Aug 9 will get to hear the announcements, which will be made by the pilots and cabin crew.

Singlish flights were initially "launched" by Jetstar as an April Fool's prank earlier this year.

But the airline decided to make the flights a reality after "an unprecedented number of requests from passengers and fans on social media", it said in a statement.
