COE prices for small and big cars up; open category premiums however drop 3.7%

SINGAPORE - Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices finished mixed at the close of August's first bidding exercise on Wednesday.

Premiums for Category A - cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp - registered a marginal increase of 0.6 per cent, from $55,889 to $56,209.

COE prices for Cat B - cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp - climbed by 4.6 per cent to $60,789, from $58,109 in July.

For the open category, Cat E, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly being used for cars, prices dipped from $60,101 to $57,885 - a 3.7 per cent decrease.

Motorcycle premiums, dropped from $6,312 to $6,201.

COE premiums for goods vehicles and buses dipped from $50,002 to $49,302.
