COE premiums end higher in first bidding for the year

BSINGAPORE - Certificates of entitlement (COE) ended higher across the board at the latest tender on Wednesday despite the prospect of a bigger supply of certificates starting next month.

COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp finished at $66,010, up from $65,889 three weeks ago. COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp closed at a nine-month high of $75,289, up from $74,000.

Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mostly for bigger cars, closed at $75,200, up from $73,990.

Commercial vehicle COE rose from $52,100 to finish at $55,011. Motorbike premiums ended at $4,403, up from $4,312.
