Better connectivity for Jurong residents with new bus service and route extension

SINGAPORE -Commuters living in Jurong West will get a new bus service on Nov 21.

Service 258, operated by SBS Transit, will ply Upper Jurong Road, Pioneer Road North and Jurong West Street 63, 61, 71, 81, 82, 75 and 64.

It will enhance connectivity to Joo Koon, Pioneer and Boon Lay MRT and local amenities such as FairPrice Hub, Gek Poh Shopping Centre and Jurong Point, and schools in the Jurong West area.

The service will operate daily from 6am to 11.45pm from Joo Koon Bus Interchange, and from 5.30am to 12.10am from Boon Lay Bus Interchange.

From Nov 22, bus service 49, which now plies between Taman Jurong and Jurong West, will also have its route extended to the Jurong East area.

This will enhance connectivity for commuters in the Taman Jurong area to Jurong East MRT and Bus Interchange and local amenities such as Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and malls in Jurong East.

Service 49 will operate daily from 6am to 11.30pm.

With the route extension, the bus will no longer call at the following three stops along Yuan Ching Road: in front of Block 138B (Bus stop 21761), in front of Jurong Secondary School (Bus stop 21751) and opposite Jurong Secondary School (Bus stop 21759).

The addition of service 258 and the route extension of service 49 are part of the Government's $1.1 billion Bus Service Enhancement Programme.
