SINGAPORE - Motorists on the Central Expressway (CTE) found themselves stuck in a traffic jam during Tuesday morning rush hour.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) first reported an accident after the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) exit towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Twitter at 6.47am.

It followed up with a series of updates over the next hour, with warnings to avoid Lane 1 on the CTE.

The views from LTA's traffic cameras from the Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 and Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 flyovers as of 7.58am showed long lines of cars.
