Three teenagers arrested in connection to fire set to a door of Jurong HDB flat

Police arrested three teenagers, between the ages of 15 and 19, on Wednesday in connection to case of fire set to a door of a HDB flat in Jurong West.

The police said in a statement on Wednesday that they received a report from a 44-year-old male in the wee hours of April 1 about his unit's door being set on fire.

It was put out before officers arrived on scene, but the floor mat outside the flat was burnt, and the door and wall blackened.

Officers from the Jurong Police Division commenced investigations and arrested the trio involved on Wednesday.

The offence is believed to have taken place due to a dispute between the teenagers and an occupant of the unit.

Investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted of mischief by fire will be punished with imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years, and will also be liable to a fine.
