Three suspected drug couriers arrested at Woodlands Checkpoint

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested three suspected Malaysian drug couriers within half an hour on Saturday morning, seizing about 1.5kg of heroin and about 325g of Ice worth about $210,500.

The first courier, a 21-year-old, was stopped by officers from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) at Woodlands Checkpoint at about 3.55am. CNB officers found 250g of heroin in a bundle from his underwear.

Then at about 4.15am, CNB officers arrested a 22-year-old Malaysian courier. Three bundles, containing about 505g of heroin and 325g of Ice, found in the front area beneath the headlight of his motorcycle.

Five minutes later, the drug haul rounded up with the arrest of a third Malaysian courier, 19. ICA officers recovered 750g of heroin in three bundles in the left side of his motorcycle.

Investigations are ongoing. All are being investigated for drug importation.
