Three men involved in Hougang coffee shop fight

SINGAPORE - Beer bottles were smashed and blood flowed at a brawl at an Hougang coffee shop on Sunday (Feb 21) evening.

Two men went at each other with beer bottles after one of them attempted to flirt with a woman who was with the other man, Shin Min Daily News reported.

Police confirmed that a case of affray was reported at Block 682 at Hougang Avenue 4 at 7.14pm on Sunday.

A diner at the coffee shop told Shin Min that a middle-aged man tried to hit on a woman in her 30s when she went to the toilet.

The two men who were with her confronted the middle-aged man. Then, two of them simultaneously picked up beer bottles and smashed them at each others' heads.

Both started bleeding, the eyewitness said.

Police cordoned off the scene of the fight until about 9pm at night, Shin Min said. The area was strewn with shards of glass and blood-stained paper towels.

Police said investigations are ongoing
