*The Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council has appointed two external companies to manage its finances, after lapses were found in their accounts, but the Ministry of National Development said these steps were "inadequate" and a "lukewarm assurance".

*The court has approved an application from Yang Kaiheng, one of the two editors behind socio-political website The Real Singapore, to return to Australia as his father had suffered a stroke.

*A new flyover called the Seletar Aerospace Flyover will open on May 16, linking motorists to the CTE, SLE, TPE and the Seletar aerospace hub.
