* Students who took the O level examinations last year have had the best showing in at least three decades.

* Swiss national Jens Sturzenegger, a former branch manager of Falcon Private Bank, was sentenced to 28 weeks jail and a fine of S$128,000.

* On February 1st, the Serangoon Plaza branch of 24-hour mall Mustafa will close, with stock and staff  transferred to the neighbouring Mustafa Centre main store on Syed Alwi Road.
