Land Transport Authority to roll out new-generation ERP from 2020; all school kids to be involved in cleaning their school; heftier fines for commuters who evade bus and train fares

* Singapore's next-generation electronic road-pricing (ERP) system will have islandwide coverage and the ability to charge for distance travelled.

* By the end of this year, students in all schools will be involved in the daily cleaning of their school environment including classrooms, and common areas such as canteens.

* The Public Transport council has announced that commuters caught for not paying bus and train fares, or paying less than required, will have to pay a $50 fine, up from $20 previously.
