SINGAPORE - A young teacher died after collapsing in the bathroom in her home on Saturday (Feb 25) morning.

Ms Lim Peck Teng, 25, was found unconscious in the bedroom by her landlord.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident at Block 868, Yishun Street 81, at 7.27am.

Paramedics performed cardiopulmonary respiration on her en route to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The cause of death is as yet unknown. Police said they were looking into the matter.

Ms Lim, who was from Malacca, was a Chinese language teacher at Chung Cheng High (Yishun), Lianhe Wanbao said.

She graduated from Nanyang Technological University and the National Institute of Education.

A friend posted a poetic tribute to her in Chinese on Facebook.

It included the lines: "A young life vanished just like that, when it was most brilliant... it fell suddenly, too abruptly..."

Miss Lim's body will be sent back to Malaysia for burial, the Chinese evening daily said.

Correction note: In an earlier version of the story, we reported that Ms Lim Peck Teng collapsed in the bathroom. It should be the bedroom.
