If you know which government sector has the highest expenditure, or when the government's financial year runs from, you could stand to win prizes in the Ministry of Finance's Budget Quiz 2014.

The quiz, which will launch on Jan 9, aims to help people learn more about the annual Budget process and initiatives announced, and will cover topics such as resource management and social policies.

A new quiz will be uploaded online every Thursday for three weeks, starting Thursday. Participants who score full marks for these quizzes will qualify for a weekly draw where 15 people can win $20 vouchers each week.

After the three weekly quizzes, a final quiz is set to run for slighty over two weeks, from Jan 30 to Feb 17. For the final quiz, ten top scorers stand to win $100 vouchers.

Singapore citizens and permanent residents can take part in the quiz individually, but students can also score points for their school. Schools with the highest quiz scores will win the Budget Challenge Trophy.

The date of this year's Budget has not been announced, but it is typically in late February. The quiz can be taken on the Budget 2014 website at www.singaporebudget.gov.sg
