SINGAPORE - Two police officers were hurt in an accident involving a car and a police car in Ang Mo Kio early Wednesday (Jan 27) morning.

Photos sent in by an eyewitness, Mr David Cai, to citizen journalism website Stomp showed the front of a black car facing the left side of a police car. The back of the police car also appeared smashed.

A police motorcycle was also seen lying nearby.

A police spokesman confirmed that the accident had occurred along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, in the direction of Buangkok Green, at 2.47am.

The two officers were conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, while the 60-year-old male car driver was arrested for suspected drink driving.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Last month, a speeding car crashed into the rear of a Traffic Police (TP) car and an enforcement motorcycle used by the auxiliary police.

The male car driver and two male TP officers suffered minor injuries.
