MR LAWRENCE Wong's evening yesterday was filled with a little light music - and he was the one performing it.
Joining other performers preparing for this year's ChildAid charity concert, the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth rehearsed his part in a group act for the opening gala next Friday.
This is the second time he is performing for the annual concert, which raises money for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund. Two years ago, he played the electric guitar on stage, also with a group.
"They are very good. I'm just here to support them," he said of the five young people he performed with."This is the 10th anniversary of ChildAid, and they asked alumni to be present. I suppose I am considered an alumnus. So, when they asked me if I would like to do something, I said yes."
This year's All-Stars Edition of ChildAid features more than 200 performers, including a 64-strong orchestra.
Its 10th anniversary line-up also includes alumni such as classical pianist Abigail Sin, soprano Janani Sridhar and pop singer Farisha Ishak.
