Stanchart employee charged with pocketing $500K

A chief cashier of Standard Chartered Bank was charged on Monday with pocketing $500,000 from the Serangoon Garden Way branch.

Koh Mui Hoong, 47, is alleged to have committed criminal breach of trust as a servant between the second week of January and second week of May this year.

She is remanded at Ang Mo Kio police divison for a week for further investigation.

Police arrested the suspect on Sunday and recovered cash of $1,000 and gambling chips worth $4,905.

She will be back in court on May 27.

If convicted, she could be jaile for up to 15 years and fined.
