Passengers on Singapore Airlines flight SQ317, which made an emergency landing in Azerbaijan, arrived at Singapore's Changi Airport as scheduled at 3.34pm. The flight arrived from Baku as SQ9317.
Families, who had been waiting for their relatives eargerly at the arrival hall, embraced as they reunited. Passengers appeared tired but told The Straits Times that they were relieved the long journey was over.
One passenger said that they were only put up at a hotel for about three to five hours in Baku. The rest of the time was spent at the transit lounge where crew served food and drinks.
While many praised the flight crew for how they handled the emergency, others felt Singapore Airlines could have kept them updated of the situation more promptly. "The airline updated Facebook before they updated us," said passenger Ms Ashley Li, 28. teacher. "So we were checking online for updates."
