A weekend getaway at Novotel Clarke Quay, 200 free museum tickets and four days of free access to all of zaobao.sg's content are just some of the rewards and promotions being rolled out by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) this Chinese New Year (CNY).

Readers can enjoy some of these treats when they download the SPH Rewards App. From today, the benefits will be extended to the public for a month. They were previously available only to members of the Chinese Media Group (CMG) Readers Club. A one-time password, ZB3018, is needed to access the deals.

Readers stand a chance to win a one-night weekend stay at Novotel Clarke Quay worth more than $400. It includes a buffet breakfast for two at The Square Restaurant.

Food and wine gourmets can also enjoy discounts such as a one-for-one offer for Tiger draft beer at Intermezzo Bar and a 22 per cent discount off buffets at Orchard Cafe.

A total of 200 tickets will be given out for Resorts World Sentosa's Maritime Experiential Museum.

CMG is also joining in the festive fanfare. From today to Sunday, zaobao.sg will lift its paywall for non-subscribers for the third straight year.

All readers will be able to access premium and exclusive content at www.zaobao.com.sg/premium. It includes all digital content and e-papers of Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News.

This promotion will be extended for another 30 days from next Monday when readers register for a new trial account with zaobao.sg

At 10am today, zaobao.sg will launch a CNY programme at bit.ly/ZBcny2018. The one-hour programme includes xiangsheng - Chinese stand-up comedy - nanyin, a type of classical music from the Fujian region, and performances by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

Ms Ang Yiting, editor of CMG Digital, said: "Digital media platforms need to be up to date all year long, with breaking news available 24/7 to provide readers with timely updates even on days without newspapers, such as the CNY holidays."
