SPD to hold televised charity show to raise funds

The Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD) needs to raise $16 million this year to help more than 4,500 clients diagnosed with various forms of disabilities.

SPD will be holding its fourth televised charity show on March 17 where about 30 local and foreign celebrities will come together to raise a targeted $3.5 million.

One segment will see artistes Zoe Tay and Vivian Lai modeling fashion pieces designed by 12-year-old Ada Soh, who has autism and aspires to be a fashion designer.

For the first time, the outdoor segment will take place at two locations - Ang Mo Kio hub and Bugis Junction. The guest of honour for the event is Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
