A number of DBS and POSB customers had difficulties using the bank's services at ATMs in some parts of Singapore around noon on Wednesday.

In a Facebook post at 3.30pm, DBS acknowledged the problem attributing it to "a system connectivity issue". It also said that some banking services - understood to include Internet banking - were "intermittently disrupted for about 30 minutes around noon".

The Straits Times understands that the disruption today had nothing to do with the fire at SingTel's Bukit Panjang Internet exchange last Wednesday.

The bank did not provide details about how widespread the problem was but said all services were restored at 12.30pm. Some online users had complained about not being able to use ATMs in areas like Choa Chu Kang and Eunos.
