This display of 81 customised glass lanterns is the centrepiece of the Singapore Pavilion at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition (Biennale Architettura 2016) in Venice.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam, who is on a state visit to Italy, opened the pavilion yesterday when he visited the Biennale.

The lanterns contain photographs and 3D models of HDB homes, offering a glimpse into how Singaporeans live and how families have created spaces to call their own.
