SINGAPORE - SingPost is celebrating Singapore's 50th birthday with a series of slogans. The postal services company said on Sunday that every month this year, it will be stamping letter mail with different slogans that include the SG50 logo.
The 12 slogans, which are meant to depict Singaporeans' unique and fun traits, values and characteristics, will be stamped from the 15th to the end of the month. They include "We love shopping", "We love holidaying" and "We love festivals".
They were created by stamp designer Wong Wui Kong. Mr Wong said that the illustrations are based on a design concept of "heart," "smile" and "SG50 logo".
"The heart expresses our love for Singapore. The SG50 logo indicates that it is our nation's 50th birthday, while the smile shows that it is a joyous celebration," he was quoted as saying in a SingPost press release.
Mr Woo Keng Leong, senior executive vice-president and head of postal services, said: "These special slogans are a great way of highlighting the essence of being Singaporean. As we come together this year to celebrate our nation's 50th birthday, it is a good reminder that we all have a part to play in making and shaping Singapore our home."
