Singapore's biggest hamburger weighs more than 100kg

SINGAPORE - What does it take to create the largest hamburger in Singapore?

More than 60kg of beef, 100 whole eggs, 15kg of flour and 5kg of onions, according to Mandarin Orchard Singapore, which has earned itself an entry in the Singapore Book of Records for the Largest Hamburger in the country.

The burger measured 82cm by 40cm and weighed approximately more than 100kg.

Preparations for the mammoth task started two months ago as recipes needed to be perfected to ensure that the giant burger patty did not break. The right solution is also needed to bake the giant burger buns, said the hotel.

The mammoth hamburger was later sliced and distributed to all guests at the event on Thursday, after the Singapore Book of Records certificate was presented to Mandarin Orchard Singapore for the achievement.

The event at the hotel's Triple Three restaurant was held to launch the restaurant's Great Big American Buffet.
